Kiz: ‘That’s me, going for a swim in the North Sea. It is NOT as tropical as it looks. There are film crews everywhere, and I saw later in the paper that they were filming giant footprints on the beach for the forthcoming Steven Spielberg directed ‘BFG’ movie!  Very exciting.’

Loz, Marion, Will and Rich with their bikes at Cassington

Sooze: ‘With Will, Rich, Loz and Marion for a ride out on the new Tracer to Cassington. We joined up for a while with the Birmingham-Worcester-Droitwich-Evesham bike group – so riding in convoy with 30+ bikes. The occasion was Cassington Bike Night: every year on the last Monday in June, 10,000+ bikers take over the little village in north Oxford. An incredible experience. Should be in every biker’s diary.’

Kiz: ‘Islay and I are getting a haircut, with the lovely Georgia. Islay’s having a “big haircut”, as opposed to the 3mm she allowed to be cut off last time!’

Exhibition about Hotel du Vin in Stratford

Sooze: ‘At an exhibition in Stratford Artshosue about plans to convert two old townhouses next to the Arthouse into a Hotel du Vin. If all goes to plan, it’ll open in Nov/Dec 2016. Great news!’

Kiz: ‘Check out this scale model of the Lusitania, sunk in 1915, created in two days by one talented young man!’

Kiz: ‘Mortal Fools are running a whole school First World War themed Arts Week at Collingwood Special School this week. These are some fabulous folk musicians teaching the pupils songs from ‘Oh! What a Lovely War’.

Hot air balloon

Sooze: ‘While I was having an ‘afterwork’ (as they say in Spain) drink outside the Elm, this hot air balloon passed overhead so close we could pretty much chat to the passengers.’

Kiz: ‘On my way to my first Mortal Fools business meeting with my bro today, and spotted this. It made me smile.’

Street full of police cars

Sooze: ‘My road’s blocked off and full of police cars and ambulances because a guy was murdered on the street just at the end. We’re not clear on the details but it seems that at 4.15pm, a man was stabbed and left to die on the street. Five people (three men, two women) have been arrested. Between them, my neighhours saw everything. We’re shocked.’
