Kiz: ‘Underground again today! (This is turning into a holiday theme…) Islay and I are heading down for a Victorian Slate Mine Tour at Llechwedd Slate Caverns.’

Plate of nachos

Sooze: ‘Easy, cheap and ace tea: nachos!’

Kiz: ‘We’re having a cheeky drive on the beach (Islay is driving!) below Iain’s house. That’s their white place on the clifftop.’

Roasted cauliflower and broccoli

Sooze: ‘This has just shot onto my top 10 dinners list: roasted cauliflower and broccoli. Simple food that tastes amazing ‘

Kiz: ‘Today I am underground again with my brother, Iain, on an extreme adventure day with Go Below. Neither of us found it as challenging as we’d hoped, but we did enjoy drinking tea from a thermos at 1000ft underground, and ziplining across inky black caverns with ony headtorches to light the way.’

Sooze on Will's CBF

Sooze: ‘This is the only bike I can get my mitts on for practice – Will’s CBF 1000cc commuter/tourer. I’ve found the best spot to practise is Aldi car park very early in the morning.’

Kiz: ‘Woo Hoo! Bounce Below is a trampoline system in old mine caverns. This is just the Junior one, but next door, there is a massive one with loads of levels, shoots and slides. Awesome fun!’

SLC rooftop pyramid in the front car park

Sooze: ‘What’s this giant teepee in the gym’s front car park?? It’s the old pointy roof thing. Apparently they took it off with a crane and it’ll be dismantled.’

Kiz: ‘5 minutes after Mr B took this photo, I was au naturel in the water, enjoying my first wild swim of the holiday. Moments later, from over the top of the mountain behind emerged a paraglider, who descended towards me, criss-crossing back and forth across the lake as he did so, pointing his helmet-mounted video camera at me, while I tried to decide whether I would perfer to be face-up or face-down on the inevitable future YouTube video!’

Sooze with Truprint envelope

Sooze: ‘I’ve ordered some prints from my photos snapped in Ireland – and receiving the envelope in the post reminded me of the excitement I had as a kid waiting for my Bonusprint order.’

Kiz: ‘Our family home for the next week. It’s cosy. And waterproof, which is always preferable in Wales!’

Burget at The Garrick

Sooze: ‘Pub scran in Stratford. Almost Fawlty Towers-esque but the food was alright. Especially since it was half price.’

Kiz: ‘Look at this. Why is it that Mr B insists on falling asleep in the middle of our bed? He has his own side. I have mine. I like getting into a cool bed after a shower in the evening, not someone else’s warmness. Grrrrrrr.’

Sooze: ‘Droitwich Lido reopens today for the season! This 40m pool uses the spa water so it’s slightly salty. Amazing facility. And here’s how it looked at 1pm today: deserted. Depressing. I swam for over an hour and most of that was totally solo. Which was lovely for me, but not good for the future of this pool.’
