Kiz: ‘Really cool glass brick wall at Sunderland station. I’m not sure if those are real people walking past on the other side, or if it’s a light display. One day I must stop off and look.’

A foot's eye view of the yoga class

Sooze: ‘This evening: my last yoga class with Peter at SLC before he leaves to go travelling with Jy Shya for a year or so. He’s been a fab teacher and the Centre can’t find a replacement – because no other yoga teachers will work for the measly £25/hr they pay.’

Kiz: ‘Cheeky white chocolate and raspberry gateaux at the farm shop.’

Giant round courgette

Sooze: ‘Graphic designer, allotment owner, and fed-up-of-courgettes Mick (pictured) has persuaded me to take this ginormous courgette off his hands. What to make with it…??’

Kiz: ‘I’m quite addicted to this at the moment. It’s a nice alternative to water without lots of horrible additives. Always worth paying for something healthy, isn’t it?’

Carving beef ribs

Sooze: ‘Thank you, cow, for giving us your ribs for this feast cooked by Will. (Yessss, I know I don’t eat cow but if someone spends all afternoon making you dinner, you eat it. And then smell weird for a day or two…)’

Kiz: ‘I’ve just arrived at the unmanned Stockton station for a workshop this afternoon – to discover that it also has no facilities. I’m going to have to dance my way to the venue after all the water I’ve drunk on the train!’

Spatchcock chicken

Sooze: ‘Thank you, chicken, for giving up your life for our (my and Amanda’s) dinner. And thank you M&S for spatchcocking it so beautifully so we didn’t have to do anything!’

Kiz: ‘Autumn is definitely here. Jasper is celebrating off to the left by munching his way through a little Autumnal game (pigeon). Yum.’

Pink and white fuchsia

Sooze: ‘How come this fuchsia bush had both white and pink flowers?’

Kiz: ‘Are you kidding me….?!’

Microwave cake

Sooze: ‘Trying a new recipe – a cake you make in a mug… in the microwave. It works too – amazing.’

Kiz: ‘At the end of my last day for SSF in Middlesbrough until October – the last time I’ll have a 0530 alarm, catch the 0630 train, to sit for 105 minutes, with all the joys of the general public, on a chugging train – twice a day(!) – I did fancy a change of transport to this speedboat heading up the Tyne towards home…’

Sooze: ‘Glamorous location for work today: big unmarked printers’ workshop near Leamington.’
