Kiz: ‘Visiting Howick Hall, the old home of the Grey family, and enjoyed Earl Grey tea with scones in their Tea Rooms (while Islay played with a doll’s house in the corner) before a trek back through the extensive grounds and along the coast to the Bathing House. Apparently, the Earl used to make sure his children weren’t afraid of the dark by sending them, at midnight, on the route we’ve walked today, mostly through woods, to retrieve a specific plant that only grows on the clifftop… not sure I’ll be modelling that particular parenting approach.’

Sooze: ‘An after-dinner excursion led to The Snitterfield Arms, a village pub taken over by two ladies I vaguely know from the gym. Couldn’t resist sampling a pud…’
