Kiz: ‘Islay doing a bit of snow-shovel guitar and singing.’

Window in the Picturehouse bar

Sooze: ‘The Picturehouse bar – unique in Stratford and the nearest thing we have to student-y. Tonight, people were crammed in to watch a free screening in the bar of The Big Lebowski.’

Kiz: ‘Islay and her partner-in-crime, Martha, trying to steal my car after pre-school. They’re such good friends. I sometimes look at them and wonder if they are destined to be pensioners eating ham baps on the bus together…’

Tresemme products on shelf

Sooze: ‘Research…’

Kiz: ‘I’m on my new dog-walking route. It’s only about 20 minutes’ long, but has a good steep hill for buttock toning and (the reason I really like it) you have to walk past this speed sign, which picks up pedestrian traffic too. Sorry about the rubbish picture, but if you squint, you can just about make out it recording my 4 miles an hour…’

Port Sunlight station

Sooze: ‘At Port Sunlight for Unilever – this is the station. It’s a planned town like Bournville – wish I had longer to look around.’

Kiz: ‘Islay’s latest portrait. Depending on who she’s telling about it, it’s Mummy….. Daddy……. Grandpa… Let’s just say it’s Grandpa for today. Happy Birthday, Grandpa!’

The Liver Building

Sooze: ‘Meeting my brother at the famous Liver Building on Liverpool’s docks.’

Kiz: ‘The house is finally quiet – phew! So, I’m chilling out in front of the fire with a cuppa and catching up on Sooze’s latest blog posts.’

Working in the shared area at Co-work Borough

Sooze: ‘At Co-Work shared offices on Borough High Street, London (working for George and Curt at GE Associates). Co-work space like this is a great idea, and this place is decorated like ‘if-Big-Brother-did-offices’.’

Kiz: ‘I’m doing the 5:2 diet and getting on really well with it – but this banana and chocolate cake has been my nemesis today! The wonderful thing about this diet is that I can have a piece tomorrow. Woop!’

Lemon cake and recipe in Armenian

Sooze: ‘My lodger Annie wanted assistance with this recipe for lemon cake – not that I can read the recipe. The assistance I provided was answering questions like this:
Annie: ‘Is there more than one kind of flour?’

Kiz: ‘This evening’s baking efforts: individual banoffee pies. All home-made, apart from the caramel (which I’ll make myself next time as it’s much yummier!)’

Sooze: ‘Weird weather this afternoon. I drove from Stow to Stratford through what friends called Armageddon. When I arrived in my courtyard, it was carpeted with these hailstones, as if a truck-load of bean-bags had exploded.’
